Sam Nunes chose the University of Illinois Springfield for “it's amazing opportunities, like the Graduate Public Service Program (GPSI) and flexible program that felt like they are tailored to my needs,” he said. On campus, he is president of International Student Association and works as an international student ambassador for the Office of International Student Services. “Despite being a small campus, UIS has many amazing opportunities and I have meet so many amazing people,” he said. Following graduation, he plans to use his education to work in the field of vaccinology and infectious disease epidemiology. “I have a dream to work for international organizations, like the International Vaccine Institute or the GAVI Foundation,” he said.
