Ocean Pangan chose the University of Illinois Springfield to play on the women’s golf team and be a part of the Capitol Honors Scholar Program (CAP). On campus she is an international student ambassador, a CAP peer mentor and a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. As an international student ambassador, she is leading the Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage celebration in April. When asked what she most enjoys about UIS, she says “the well-connected nature of the UIS community.” Following graduation, she plans to earn a master’s degree and apply for full-time employment.
