Navie is an avid resource for those in his community. He spends his time outside of class volunteering and serving as president of the Black Male Collegiate Society at UIS. Every other Friday, Navie spends an hour mentoring his “little brother” at Springfield’s Matheny-Withrow Elementary School through the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. He also volunteers as a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Upsilon Xi Chapter where he serves as secretary. Navie works as a student orientation coordinator and is a member of the Necessary Steps Mentoring Program.
