The University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball team will begin their playoff journey at the GLVC Conference Tournament against Lewis. The Prairie Stars face off against the Flyers on March 8 at 8:15 p.m. at Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Missouri. Both Lewis and UIS also featured in this week's Midwest Regional Rankings, coming in at #8 and #9 respectively. 

UIS (18-12, 11-9) 

The Stars wrapped up their regular season campaign with a solid road win against Quincy on Saturday. UIS earned the 6 seed in the GLVC Tournament with a 3.38 PRS during the regular season. The Prairie Stars lost the tiebreaker with William Jewell for the fifth seed due to both teams' record against UIndy. UIS is making its eighth overall and third-straight appearance in the GLVC postseason.

The Prairie Stars are 2-3 on a neutral court this season. UIS is averaging 81.1 points per game on a league-best 51.4% shooting. The Stars defense allows opponents to score 74.2 points per game on 45.5% shooting. UIS is second in point margin in the GLVC at +6.9. The Stars also lead the conference in three-point percentage at 41.9%. UIS averages 34.0 rebounds, 15.17 assists, 8.8 three-pointers made, and 4.80 steals per game. The Prairie Stars are 4-6 in their last 10 games. 

Lewis (15-13, 12-8)

The Flyers concluded their regular season by splitting a pair of games in the St. Louis area. Lewis earned the 3 seed in the GLVC Tournament with a 3.58 PRS during the regular season. LU won the lone matchup between the two teams this year, an 86-74 contest on February 15 in Springfield. Lewis is making its 39th appearance in the GLVC postseason, owning seven league titles with the latest coming in 2021.

The Flyers are 1-1 on a neutral court this season. Lewis is averaging 77.1 points per game on 49.3% shooting. LU's defense allows 74.8 points per game on 44.8% shooting. Lewis averages 34.0 rebounds, 13.21 assists, 6.5 three-pointers made, and 5.68 steals per game. The Flyers are 5-5 in their last 10 games.
