The UIS women's basketball team faced a tough outing against Maryville on Thursday evening, falling 79-58 at Moloney Arena in St. Louis. With this result, UIS falls to 0-7 overall and 0-3 in GLVC play, while Maryville improves to 2-6 and 1-2 in conference action.

• UIS struggled early, with Maryville jumping to a 21-16 lead in the first quarter
• The Prairie Stars committed 13 first-half turnovers compared to the Saints' nine, leading to a 37-24 halftime deficit despite UIS outrebounding their opponent. Shooting woes compounded the challenge, with UIS hitting just 30% from the field in the first half
• Maryville extended its lead in the third quarter, outscoring UIS 19-11 behind four made three-pointers
