Bio: Currently, I work as a Correctional Officer/Deputy Sheriff for a county in Illinois. This position involves processing of county adult prisoners, county juvenile prisoners, and federal inmates on a case-by-case basis. Daily duties also include monitoring the conduct on county prisoners in the housing unit, and the prisoners’ work/recreational activities. Before assuming these sheriff duties, I was an office facilitator at the same county sheriffs’ department. This facilitator was responsible for preparing all materials and evidence for court appearances and trials, preparing billings to send to attorneys and plaintiffs, maintaining records of jail inmates, arranging for transportation of inmates, assisting the public, and responding to public records requests for information (FOIA/Freedom of Information Officer). Prior to working with the County Sheriff, I worked for Senator of the District in Illinois.  My position was full-time and involved organizing and implementing a grassroots marketing campaign for his senatorial district in 2012.

In addition. I am involved in several community/volunteer areas.  As President of the Hagaman Illinois Historical Society (HIHS), I help develop strategic plans for the organization in connection with the Board of Directors. In addition, I am the Director of the Annual HHS July 4th Parade and Fundraiser each year. In addition, 2019 is my second season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Blackburn College softball program. Previously, I also spent two seasons (2009-2011) as an assistant coach with Lake Land College on all managerial activities involving coaching with an emphasis on pitching. I was a member of the professional coaching staff with a successful Lakers Softball Team that compiled a winning record in the NJCAA D1 Great Rivers Athletic Conference with appearances in the D1 Region 24 and National Championship Tournaments. I played softball for many years including 4 years of softball (primarily pitching) at Eastern Illinois University for Coach Schuette.

Relevant Professional Experience:

Many of the activities in which I was involved included political science educational activities, a full-time position that focused on developing and implementing political campaign operations, improvement of various functions in correctional/court operations, and general strengthening of professional skills such as planning, prioritizing, oral/written communications, team building, and professional development.
