The University of Illinois Springfield baseball team entered the national rankings this week at #20. The Prairie Stars are off to a 6-4 start to the season after splitting their four-game home opening series last weekend. UIS is one of the eight new additions in this week's poll, after not receiving any votes in the previous week's poll. Indianapolis (1-3), receiving votes, is the only other GLVC school featured in the National Rankings.
The Prairie Stars are also currently second in the Midwest Region Rankings with 54 points. Wayne State is top of the regional rankings with 60 points and #12 in the National Rankings. UIS is one of five GLVC schools represented in the Midwest Region Rankings.
UIS returns to action this weekend for a three-game series against Trevecca Nazarene on Friday and Saturday.Complete Poll
