Alexis Morris says she chose the University of Illinois Springfield because it has “all the resources and support I need to be successful in my career.” On campus, she works at the Student Union and is a member of the Voices in Praise Gospel Choir and Black Women of Excellence and the Tau Chi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. “The thing I like most about UIS is that there is so much diversity and everyone works together in hard times,” she said. Following graduation from UIS, she plans to earn a master’s degree and become a psychiatrist.
