Sexual Misconduct and Research

UIS is firmly committed to the highest levels of research integrity, which includes fostering diversity and inclusion and maintaining environments free from discrimination based on sex or gender, and free of sexual misconduct. Sexual misconduct, including sexual harassment, stalking, domestic or dating violence, and sexual assault are prohibited in the research environment, whether in the lab, in the field, or at a conference.

Title IX at UIS

UIS supports the campus community with the office of the Title IX Coordinator. The policies and procedures, as well as training materials and links to counseling services and other assistance, are available on the Title IX website.

To report an incident, follow the procedures outlined by the Title IX Coordinator.

The Women’s Center at UIS maintains a list of local resources to assist victims of sexual misconduct.

The National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health have issued statements to the scientific research community prohibiting sexual harassment of any type.
