Facilities & Services will be performing floor cleaning in computer labs on the second floor of University Hall Building (UHB) during the following periods:
- June 29 – July 2
- July 6 – July 10
If you need a lab or classroom during these time periods, please contact Classroom Scheduling to identify and reserve an available room.
As part of ongoing repairs and maintenance, Facilities and Services will conduct scheduled power outages in several campus buildings.
The outages are planned for the following dates and times:
Greetings Campus Community,
The contractor will be working on the building's main air handlers this week as part of the final phase of the environmental controls upgrade.
During this work, air supply throughout the building will be reduced, and occupants may notice warmer temperatures and higher humidity levels than usual for the remainder of this week.
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we complete this important upgrade to building controls.
Following the Public Affairs Center's (PAC) recent closure, Facilities & Services is happy to share that the building has resumed operations for campus units to transition back to their office locations as of Monday, June 8. Restrooms in Tower 3 are in service. Restrooms in Towers 1 and 2 will remain unavailable until further notice.
Wildlife sightings around campus are a common occurrence. However, this time of year, a fawn may be spotted curled up in the grass, under a shrub, or tucked next to a building. Please do not approach them - they are fine and do not need assistance. The doe is typically nearby searching for food and will return to care for the fawn. Deer commonly do this to keep the fawns safe when they are too young to run from predators.
Thank you for helping to keep the campus a safe and healthy environment for both people and wildlife.
Greetings, Campus Community,
In tandem with the classroom lighting upgrade project in UHB, UIS electricians began work this week alongside external contractors to upgrade the environmental controls. Work will primarily be focused on floors 1 through 3 of University Hall. Expect to see ceiling tiles removed and ladders, materials, and other project-related equipment throughout the building.
These projects are expected to take most of the summer to complete.
