Welcome! The University of Illinois Springfield is dedicated to assisting veterans in taking full advantage of educational benefits, integrating into the campus community, and graduating. Our office is located in University Hall (UHB) 1002 (main level near the ID Center) and is open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (hours may vary depending on staff availability).

Veterans, active military personnel, reservists, and military dependents are a vital part of our student community and we are here to assist you in successfully completing your educational goals. Our mission is to provide the best assistance possible to all current and prospective Military Connected Students.

“UIS is fully committed to ensuring military-connected students have the support and resources to succeed. The values and diversity of UIS are reflected in our military-connected student population. We welcome students who are currently serving in the military, who have previously served (Veterans), or who are dependent family members. Our support of service members and their families is a part of our commitment to community service and leadership.”

Chancellor Janet L. Gooch

Our staff will help guide the way through veterans programs and education benefits, and provide assistance with the forms and information related to military grants and scholarships made available through the state of Illinois.
