Dear Colleagues:
As the State and University Employees Combined Appeal (SECA) campaign draws to a close on Nov. 12, I’d like to remind you about the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families in need.

Happy Monday,
I want to thank you all for joining me for the Fall Employee Info Session on Oct. 16 to discuss enrollment and retention, construction projects and how we are moving towards our NorthStar initiative to make our university a better place. For those of you who could not attend, the session was recorded and can be accessed on Orbit.
If you could not attend our Fall Employee Information Session last Wednesday, Oct. 16, in Brookens Auditorium, the Office of Electronic Media has provided the following recording so you can hear updates about university priorities for the upcoming year from Chancellor Gooch and other members of Cabinet.
Chancellor's Thinkers Series: We’re All in This Together
A Call to Think: We’re All in This Together
Chancellor Gooch will be joined by Mylas Copeland, a respected community leader and beacon in Springfield’s civic life, for an engaging conversation on the power of connection, collaboration, and community impact.

Dear Faculty and Staff:

As AI continues to advance at an unprecedented pace, it is critical that we work together to thoughtfully integrate AI into our university’s operations, teaching and research. This is not just a technical challenge; it’s a strategic opportunity to align innovation with our mission, vision and values.

Dear UIS community —
The start of a new semester brings fresh energy, new goals and the promise of opportunity. However, as we move forward together this fall semester, it’s important to recognize that some members of our university community may be experiencing stressors or other challenges associated with recent tensions amid a shifting broader climate.
In uncertain times, staying connected and reaching out for support can make all the difference. I want to remind all students, faculty and staff of our available resources:
