Before You Request to Use Educational Benefits
Prior to enrolling in courses at UIS we encourage you to reach out to your Educational Services Officer (ESO) or counselor within your Military Service or a Veterans Service Officer (VSO) to make sure you fully understand the benefits available to you.
Veteran Applicants
The UIS application and veterans’ applicant fee waiver
The first step in attending UIS is to complete the appropriate UIS Application Form. UIS waives the application fee for Veterans. Upload your DD214 or military documentation when completing the application in order to receive the waiver.

Our office is located in University Hall (UHB) 1002 (main level near the ID Center) and is open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (hours may vary depending on staff availability).
