Chancellor’s Thinkers Series - A Call to Think: On Common Ground
Please save the date for our next Chancellor’s Thinkers Series - A Call To Think: On Common Ground. Chancellor Gooch will be joined by Matt Van Vossen and Ryan Melchin, Class of 2011 UIS Graduates. Matt and Ryan will discuss how they navigated diverse leadership roles on campus, including leading the college democrats and republicans while sharing a dorm room. Matt and Ryan exemplify respect for differences and the power of finding common ground.

UIS launches Prairie Star Family Connect Portal to enhance communication with families
The University of Illinois Springfield has introduced the Prairie Star Family Connect portal, a new online platform designed to strengthen the connection between UIS and families of prospective and current students. This innovative tool is part of the university’s ongoing commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive community.
Lighting of the Colonnade
The 10th annual lighting of the Colonnade will happen at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 15. Cookies and cocoa will be served at 5:15 p.m., followed by the lighting of the Colonnade by the Chancellor and SGA president.

Fall Welcome is looking for volunteers to staff Welcome Tables at various locations on campus for the first few days of classes to help direct students and guests, provide answers to common questions, and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere.
