The Know Your U program was launched in August 2019 as a system-wide effort to provide our dedicated employees with opportunities to learn more about the wonderful university they work so hard to support.
The program is designed to provide eligible staff with ways to discover and experience, during their normal workday, the initiatives, research, academic programs, history, and infrastructure at our universities.

This policy pertains to the search for and selection of persons to fill vacancies in all UIS major administrative positions. This policy is grounded in the administration’s commitment to the principles of shared governance.
In compliance with Illinois Law, 110 ILCS 305/80, the use of search firms at the University of Illinois is limited to searches for the President of the University and when the President and Board of Trustees demonstrate a justifiable need.
Accordingly, searches involving a search firm shall conform to one or more of the following criteria:

In order to reduce the risk of serious injury in the performance of these duties and to promote a healthy and safe work environment for UIS, a physical agility and lifting test is required prior to employment or movement into a position that includes a significant required physical component in the job duties.

Candidates for these positions are required to undergo a drug screening prior to employment in the position.
