Supervisor Development Series
UIS is committed to protecting minors that visit campus so they can enjoy the wonderful events and programs our community offers. For departments that want to offer programs to minors, our Protection of Minors page has detailed information on planning and hosting an event for young visitors.

Supervisor Development Series
Human Resources is pleased to announce a new Supervisor Development Series, a semester-long series of trainings that will generally occur on the last Wednesday morning of each month. A tentative schedule is included below:
Holiday Cookie Decorating in the Student Union
On December 14 from 11-1 pm, all UIS employees are invited to decorate cookies in the Student Union to celebrate the holiday season and the end of a successful semester!
Quantities are limited to the first 100 participants, so make sure to arrive early and get your sweet treat! Cookies will also be available for those with dietary restrictions.

Holiday Celebrations
While there will be no campus-wide holiday party this year, departments are encouraged to individually celebrate the season and recognize the hard work and commitment of UIS employees. We look forward to celebrating with everyone in May at the 2nd Annual End of the Academic Year Party. Details forthcoming this spring.

Join UIS Human Resources and Chancellor Gooch on the roof of Brookens Library on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, from 7:00-9:00pm for the Know Your U Moon Party, where we will learn about the newly renovated UIS Campus Observatory and the famous UIS Star Parties!
Per the State University Civil Service System statute, all Academic Professional and Civil Service job descriptions are required to be reviewed and updated at least every three years, including the signatures of the incumbent and supervisor. In order to comply with this statutory mandate, UIS must collect job descriptions by the end of this calendar year. We are excited to utilize our new JDXpert system for this process. Once the supervisor and dean/director have approved the document it will be sent to the employee for electronic signature. It will then be availabl
