As part of the necessary plumbing infrastructure renovation project that has begun this summer in the Public Affairs Center, Facilities & Services is working in collaboration with multiple campus partners to ensure a smooth transition process in operations. From June 2025 to September 2026, several units currently located in the PAC will temporarily pause or relocate their operations to other campus spaces due to the drilling and pipe excavation activities.

The increase in University of Illinois System operating funds announced by Gov. JB Pritzker for the 2026 fiscal year demonstrates continued support for and belief in the power of public higher education, U of I System President Tim Killeen said Monday.

The new budget was approved by the General Assembly on Sunday and Pritzker has said he will sign it.

Thanks to campus and system-level financial support, ITS is in the process of implementing a campus-wide infrastructure refresh as part of our efforts to improve Wi-Fi performance. This is a multi-phase project with an expected projected completion date of August 2025.

During the week of June 2, we will be upgrading the Student Life Building (SLB) and the Visual Performing Arts Building (VPA).

During the transition for each building, laptops, tablets, and phones should automatically switch to the new Wi-Fi after a possible brief interruption in service.

The UIS Performing Arts Center venues are temporarily closed!

While our performance venues are closed for 15 months due to a major campus plumbing infrastructure update, our ticket and administrative offices remain open.

Our stages may be dark, but the UIS Performing Arts Center is still active behind the scenes. We're continuing our educational and community outreach programming—and working hard to refresh Sangamon Auditorium to enhance your future patron experience.

If you received an email from GrantForward, it is not spam or a phishing attempt. This is a grant database that UIS is subscribed to. Previously, it only had accounts for faculty and those who opted in. Today, accounts went live for Civil Service and Academic Professional employees.

This is how the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs will begin sending out monthly newsletters at the start of the Fall semester to increase efficiency and have better usage metrics than the email version we've been using.
