This program, open to academic professional and exempt civil service employees, offers:

We are excited to announce that the Good Idea Fund is available again this year! This initiative offers one-time (non-recurring) funds to support innovative ideas from UIS staff and faculty. If you have a project that could make a positive impact on our University, we want to hear from you! We invite a wide range of ideas that can create broad impact. Whether it's a new program, a research project, or an initiative to improve campus life, we encourage you to apply and share your vision with us.

The Office of Strategic Communications will be hosting two Open Photo Studio sessions for Fall 2025 for all staff or faculty. The photos can be used for university purposes such as department websites, campus directory, speaking engagements at conferences, etc. Any staff or faculty member who either hasn’t had their portrait taken or would like another, more recent, portrait taken are encouraged to attend.

Dear UIS Students and Employees:

UIS is committed to maintaining a drug-free environment for its students and employees, in compliance with applicable federal and state laws. Our Drug Prevention Policy and Program was prepared in accordance with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988 and the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act Amendments of 1989.

Artworks in the Art & Artifacts Collection at the University of Illinois Springfield, including two-dimensional, three-dimensional, decorative arts, and miscellaneous objects, are offered to UIS faculty and staff through an intra-campus loan program for display in your office!

Under Regulation 16.011 under Policy and Rules, civil service staff are now required to submit a conflict of interest form annually. A communication was recently sent to all Civil Service employees alerting them to the reporting requirement.

Greetings Campus Community,

The roofing contractor will have a crane on site on Friday, Sept. 19 to remove roofing debris off of Founders Residence Hall. The crane will be positioned on the west side of Founders, just off Eliza Farnham Drive. The bus stop on that corner will remain open and accessible. The red rectangle on the included image indicates the approximate location for the crane.

Please use caution if you need to travel near the residence hall. Construction zones and equipment placement areas will be marked to assist with navigation and ensure safety.

We hope you will be able to join in celebrating this year’s University Scholars Award recipient on Wednesday, September 24.

If you plan to attend and have not yet registered, please do so by end of day Friday, September 19, so we can finalize event details.
