Dear UIS Family,

Welcome to the beginning of a new semester at UIS!

It has been a pleasure meeting so many of our new UIS community members and seeing some familiar faces as we begin our Fall 2024 semester. I am reaching out today to share important reminders about your rights, updates to the Access and Equity Office, and information about required and optional trainings.

As a University of Illinois employee, you are required to complete ethics training on an annual basis.

Dear UIS Community Members:

Maintaining a safe campus is an important responsibility the entire UIS community takes seriously.

UIS Faculty and Staff,

Want to learn to play pickleball? Want to play with colleagues at various skill levels?

Human Resources and Campus Recreation are teaming up to offer pickleball on Court 3 in TRAC!

John Ferry is a distinguished professor of chemistry and biochemistry in the UIS School of Integrated Sciences, Sustainability, and Public Health. His research areas include environmental chemistry, toxicology, microbial ecology, and science outreach.

Can you give me a brief timeline of how your career led you to UIS?

The Cox Children’s Center and the Volunteer and Civic Engagement Center are once again hosting Trunk or Treat for Canned Goods. Please sign up to participate in this year’s event which is being held on Friday, October 25, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Set up will begin as early as 8 a.m.

A section of Richard Wright Drive will be closed Friday, September 27 from noon to 6 p.m. for the Homecoming Pep Rally Block party.

The Office of Continuing and Professional Education (CAPE) offers digital badging services that let UIS departments validate employee skills and acknowledge student achievements outside the classroom.

You can partner with CAPE to design professional badges for your workshops, trainings, conferences, and other learning events. Badge earners can share their credentials on platforms like LinkedIn, showcasing what they have learned and their institution's commitment to professional growth.
