Our student commencement speaker is an important tradition at UIS. All graduating students are eligible to audition. Representatives of the faculty will select the speaker. The chosen speaker’s speech will be pre-recorded and broadcast to graduates and attendees during both commencement ceremonies. If you wish to apply, please complete the following steps:

You'll be inside the music when twenty-one performers ring the UIS Colonnade, surrounding the audience, as we present Terry Riley's mesmerizing experimental work In C. While fully notated, In C is never the same twice. You'll be encouraged to shape your own unforgettable audience experience by moving throughout the space.

DPA Hooding Ceremony
The Doctor of Public Administration (DPA) Hooding Ceremony formally recognizes and celebrates DPA graduates as they are hooded in honor of completing their doctoral degree.
