The alarm horns and the strobe lights will be activated intermittently as part of the test procedures to ensure all components of the system are working properly. In looking forward to a new semester classroom locations can now be viewed in the dynamic course schedule. A few courses may still show TBA but this should be resolved with the next 24 hour update.

The annual fire drills for this year will be conducted on Thursday, October 31, and Friday, November 1 for the UIS campus. Please pay special attention to your building assembly points as some have been revised for the ease of assembly by location.

We are writing to inform you of inspections taking place this week in Brookens, Public Affairs Center, and University Hall as part of a facilities condition assessment effort led by the university system.

Work begins September 5 on the PAC Roof Replacement Project. Contractor equipment and materials will be staged in the lot on the southwest side of the building, near the loading dock and stage door.

For safety reasons, this lot will be closed to all non-contractor vehicles from September 4 to October 25, to provide a dedicated area for roofing crews to safely operate and work.

As we continue to experience extreme heat this week, City Water, Light & Power (CWLP) has issued a Maximum Generation Warning. This is due to the increased demand for electricity and a potential energy supply shortage from the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), the regional electric grid operator for the central United States.
