College life gets busy fast—especially at the start of a new semester. Between classes, schedules, and everything else, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But getting a handle on your financial aid early can take a lot of stress off your plate and help you feel more in control.
To help you stay ahead, we’ve put together answers to some of the most common financial aid questions students ask. Let’s make sure you’re set up for success from day one.
Schools are required to notify all students who are eligible for State of Illinois MAP grant awards, including those students who are only eligible during the second semester or the second and/or third quarter. Schools must clearly identify MAP grant awards on the award notification as: IL MAP Grant (Estimated). Schools are also required to include the following language, exactly as it appears below, with the award notification.

Figuring out how to pay for college can be challenging. But there are resources to help! The FAFSA, scholarships, grants and programs like the Prairie Promise can help make college more affordable. Students can significantly reduce their expenses by exploring financial aid options. Financial aid is available from the University of Illinois Springfield, federal and state programs, and outside private scholarships.
