UIC Nursing Students, ISU Nursing Students, & Interns

We welcome you to stay with us at UIS! The Department of Residence Life is pleased to offer housing options to Approved Affiliates including: UIC Nursing students, ISU Nursing students, students who are participating in Internships in the Springfield area.

Fall, Winter, & Spring Break Housing

Break housing is available at no additional cost for students who need to remain on campus when the University is closed.
For safety purposes, students must complete a Break Stay Form to notify us that they will be on campus during each break period. An email with the form link will be sent to your UIS email a few weeks before each break.
Please note: a separate form must be completed for each break period.

Housing Renewal & Selection for Returning Students

The process current residence hall and upperclassmen students follow to submit a housing contract for the following academic year and choose a space is known as “housing renewal & selection.” As a current resident, if you fill out your housing contract by the application deadline, you will have priority over new students to select a room for the next academic year.

5/9/26 : Residence Halls Close at Noon

5/10/26 : Townhouses & Apartments Close at Noon

UIS Department of Residence Life operates separately from admission to UIS, so students MUST contact the Department of Residence Life to apply for or change their housing contract.

The UIS housing contract is a legally binding contractual lease agreement, and should be considered a commitment for both the fall and spring semesters.
