The UIS Music Program has a number of employment and internship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students.

The University of Illinois Springfield is holding a panel discussion on arts advocacy and racial equality.
The UIS Music Program is hosting "From Diversity to Inclusion: Arts Advocacy and Racial Equality in the 21st Century."
The panelists will discuss their efforts to engage the arts to tackle issues of silencing, prejudice, and racism, as well as encourage equity and inclusivity in the arts.
UIS Music Program Director and Associate Professor of Ethnomusicology Yona Stamatis will moderate the discussion.
The University of Illinois Springfield’s Harry and Deborah Berman Sabbatical Award has been presented to Sharon Graf, professor in the Sociology/Anthropology department. She will receive $3,000 to support her research during her sabbatical leave.
Graf’s sabbatical plan is to conduct a second phase of ethnographic field research in Oceania that will contribute to the scholarly body of knowledge on the cultural practices—including art, music, the performing arts and seafaring—of the inhabitants of the Pacific Island region.
The University of Illinois Springfield Music Program will host a virtual panel discussion, “From Diversity to Inclusion: Arts Advocacy and Racial Equality in the 21st Century,” at 6 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2021, via Zoom. This event is free and open to the public and will be followed by an open discussion session with the audience.
