Gooch will discuss the enduring legacy of President Abraham Lincoln during a Thinkers Series event featuring Jacob Friefeld, director of the UIS Center for Lincoln Studies. Friefeld was recently featured as a historical expert on the HBO Max and Magnolia Network series “Back to the Frontier.”

Last week, Cabinet held a retreat at the Lake Springfield Field Station. It was a great opportunity for each member of the Cabinet to share their progress on top priorities and discuss our individual and collective goals for the Fall 2025 semester.

Following President Killeen’s June 25 announcement, this message confirms the 1% merit-based salary program for the 2025-26 academic year. The 1% merit-based salary program is to be distributed at the discretion of the unit head. Division heads will identify the unit head for each area based on operational responsibility.
