The UIS Jazz Ensemble is available to UIS students, faculty and staff, and community members. The ensemble performs a wide variety of jazz repertoire including classic standards, new compositions, and innovative arrangements. The Jazz Ensemble gives at least one major performance each semester and often performs in the community.

How to Join

The UIS Jazz Ensemble requires basic knowledge and skills in jazz performance. Interested musicians should fill out an application form through the UIS Community Music School. The cost to join the UIS Jazz Ensemble is $100 per semester. Payment is due in full before joining the Jazz Ensemble. Cost will be adjusted accordingly for musicians that join after the mid-point of the semester.

Participation is welcome by musicians 12+.
