New, returning, and non-degree seeking students meet with your advisor before registering in April and November and to maintain good communication with them throughout the year as an integral part of your success team at UIS.

Advise U for Undergrads

Advise U was launched in Fall 2020 to assist students for educational success. Advise U is the quickest and easiest way to:

  • Identify your academic advisor
  • Schedule an appointment with your advisor
  • Prepare a tentative drag-and-drop course schedule for an upcoming semester
  • There is no app to download. Instead, access Advise U using a web browser on your mobile device or computer. 

Teacher Education Student Advising

Teacher Education students will be assigned to the following Academic Advisor:

Graduate Student Advising

Graduate students enrolled in the School of Education are assigned to the Online Coordinator/Advisor or a Faculty Advisor at the time they are admitted to their Degree Program.

Online graduate students enrolled as non-degree or in the Master of Arts in Education, English as a Second Language (ESL) Certificate/Endorsement, Higher Education Online Pedagogy Certificate, Leadership and Learning Certificate, Legal Aspects of Education Certificate, and Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) Endorsement will be assigned to the Online Coordinator:

Students enrolled in a Certificate of Advanced Study, Principal Endorsement, and Master of Arts in Educational Leadership, will be assigned to one of the following Faculty Advisors:
