Curricular/Co-Curricular Career Activities

How can I become involved in the campus-wide initiative to contribute to student career preparedness?

  • Integrate career development concepts into curricular & co-curricular experiential career activities
  • Incorporate the Career Toolbox into curricular and co-curricular activities; make sure to contact the CDC to share best practices so we may partner in the future to offer professional development activities for faculty and staff
  • Request consultation with CDC Director to become more knowledgeable about career paths & labor market demands relative to your academic discipline
  • Invite the CDC staff to present at one of your classes or other events on a variety of career topics using interactive activities
  • Request a career field trip to the CDC for interactive activities on resume critiquing, self-assessments, networking, and more. Request forms are available below or located within the left side tab under Career Toolbox and Request Forms
  • Make announcements, build assignments into your syllabus, offer extra credit to your students (at all class levels), and encourage them to take advantage of career seminars, career fairs, special events, and on-campus recruitment activities; check out our events calendar
  • Students who are exhibiting career indecision and career anxiety or even students who present as extremely motivated might benefit from career counseling; you can complete a referral form and one of the CDC staff will follow up with the student to explain our services and offer assistance in a non-threatening way
