The University of Illinois Springfield Visual Arts Gallery annual silent auction and benefit will take place both online and on-site at the gallery this year. The silent auction and benefit, featuring original works of art donated by local and regional artists, will launch online on Nov. 15 and remain live through final bidding at 7 p.m. Dec. 2. The University of Illinois Springfield Visual Arts Gallery is pleased to present “Code of Complication,” an exhibition by Springfield-based artist Betsy Dollar. This exhibition will open on Thursday, Oct. 21, and will run through Thursday, Nov. 18. A reception will be held on from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, at the gallery.

The University of Illinois Springfield Visual Arts Gallery is pleased to present “Leaving Loves Company” from renowned Arizona-based artist Angela Ellsworth. “Leaving Loves Company” will open on Thursday, March 1, and run through Thursday, April 12, 2018. A reception for the exhibit will take place on Thursday, March 1, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Visual Arts Gallery.

The University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) Visual Arts Gallery is proud to present “Essence”, an exhibition showcasing the creativity and skill sets of the senior Visual Arts majors at UIS. The exhibit will open on Monday, April 23, 2018 and run through Thursday, May 10, 2018. The reception will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. All gallery events are free and open to the public.

The University of Illinois Springfield Visual Arts Gallery is pleased to present “digital dusk shadow storage,” an installation by St. Louis-based artist Amanda Bowles. The exhibition will open on Monday, August 27, and run through Thursday, September 20. A reception for the exhibit will take place on Thursday, September 6, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

The immersive installation will feature crystalized tube towers, ghost images, sky blocks, and a large painting of fingers.
