Webcasting

In collaboration with the Office of Electronic Media, ITS offers webcasting services for campus events and classroom lectures. Events such as graduation, athletics events, festivals, and various workshops/symposiums have been broadcast across the Internet using streaming technology that makes the content available across mobile and computing platforms.

Campus departments wishing to arrange a webcast should contact Cody Pope at 217.206.6803 or cpope6@uis.edu.

Equipment Check-Out

Information Technology Services offers equipment loans for academic projects and initiatives. With laptops, MiFis, digital cameras, camcorders, tablet PCs, and video projectors, the UIS community has technology resources available to check out and use for their academic needs.

Included below is a list of the equipment that members of the University community [with approval] may check out from ITS Client Services [lower level of Brookens Library, BRK 180].

Canvas

Canvas is a modern learning management system that supports student-focused teaching and learning at UIS. The robust features of Canvas help to enhance teaching and learning beyond the physical classroom.

Campus Cluster Program

ITS is excited to be a part of the University of Illinois Campus Cluster project. Investing in the Campus Cluster allows UIS faculty to have access to high-performance computers to meet the research need for high-scale computing.

UIS currently has 22TB (soft limit) and 24TB (hard limit) of space to utilize.

NetID & Password

Your Network ID (NetID) is a network login assigned to you that is unique across all University of Illinois campuses. It serves as your login to many University computing and networking services.

Your NetID is the part of your e-mail address before the @ symbol. For example, if your email address were jdoe123@uis.edu, your NetID would be jdoe123. Your NetID has a password associated with it, this password is commonly called your NetID password. It may also be referred to as your Active Directory password.
