As we prepare to return to our universities this fall, University of Illinois System leaders continue to think first and foremost about the safety of all of you and the surrounding communities amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Throughout the pandemic, measures we have taken to mitigate against the virus that causes COVID-19 have made our three universities among the safest places to be. These measures – particularly vaccination – remain our best protection.

Annual Evaluation season has officially wrapped up for 2022! We would like to thank everyone for participating and for your patience as we rolled out the new electronic evaluation form. This system was an overall success, but we would like to hear from you to see how we can do better. Please take a few moments to fill out this survey to tell us how you think the electronic form can be improved for next year.
Melissa Beisel named the new director of Residence Life at the University of Illinois Springfield
The University of Illinois Springfield has named Melissa Beisel the new director of the Department of Residence Life. She will oversee housing operations for more than 900 students living on the UIS campus. Her appointment is effective Aug. 1, 2022.
The University of Illinois Springfield Office of Web Services launched a new website design on the Drupal content management system, and migrated from WordPress a year ago June 1st. The goal of the update was to modernize the look and feel of the site, improve sharing capability of content and content architecture, audit content for accessibility and usability issues, resolve security related issues, and the improve site performance. All of these factors improve site rank on search engines, and boost our web presence.
Thank you for your continued flexibility this month to comply with the state testing requirement for unvaccinated students, faculty and staff on our campus. For the week of July 11, UIS will accept COVID-19 test results from any test that has Emergency Use Authorization.
Adjunct of the Year Award Recipients
The Adjunct of the Year Award at UIS recognizes the teaching accomplishments of UIS adjunct (per course) faculty member who has taught a minimum of four semesters at UIS in the previous three years.
You may now access new cybersecurity training. Note that this training is different from any previous training that you may have done. Please follow the link below to begin your training, which is due by Sep-30-2022.
