UIS experienced a cybersecurity incident this week. While this incident was caught quickly and intervention took place immediately, we are acting in an abundance of caution and requiring that all UIS users reset their passwords. Please do so within the next 24 hours. After Friday, November 18 at 3pm CST, we will expire passwords for any user who has not yet reset their password and they will be forced to reset their password before they can login to any service.

The Springfield area is forecasted to receive its first snowfall of the season tonight through Tuesday. We do not anticipate any changes to campus operations, however we wanted to take this opportunity to remind you about UIS’ inclement weather policy.
In accordance with the UIS Policy on Weapons Screening at the UIS Performing Arts Center, we are once again implementing a weapons screening at the UIS Performing Arts Center in the Public Affairs Center (PAC) building. This screening will be on Sunday, Nov. 20, for the sold-out John Mulaney comedy show. The building lockdown and patron screening activity will occur from approximately 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Per the State University Civil Service System statute, all Academic Professional and Civil Service job descriptions are required to be reviewed and updated at least every three years, including the signatures of the incumbent and supervisor. In order to comply with this statutory mandate, UIS must collect job descriptions by the end of this calendar year. We are excited to utilize our new JDXpert system for this process. Once the supervisor and dean/director have approved the document it will be sent to the employee for electronic signature. It will then be availabl

Shutting Down Skype for Business
ITS will be shutting down the UIS Skype for Business server on December 16, 2022. Microsoft has been migrating Skype for Business functionality to Microsoft Teams and plans to no longer support Skype for Business.
Please note that this has no impact on Skype; Skype for Business is a separate service.
Please reach out to ITS Client Services if you would like additional training on Zoom or MS Teams.
What should I do if:
There is now an online payment option for any lost keys that were issued by Campus Police. The form can be found on the UIS Campus Police webpage under Forms & Resources (link included below). Please note, you will need your University login information to access the payment form.
The online payment option is only available for credit card transactions. Any cash/check payments can still be made at the University Bursar’s Office during their operating hours.
