At approximately 10 a.m. on Dec. 11, the UIS Police Department will be conducting a test of the Rave Alert notification system which utilizes text messages, emails, website banners, digital signage and social media. The test will be followed up with an email that contains a link to a brief survey (no longer than 4 questions) to evaluate the efficacy of the system and identify any operational gaps. The University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) is set to enhance its academic program pages with the launch of Dynamic Program Pages, a collaborative initiative by the Office of Web & Digital Strategy, Enrollment Management, and Marketing. Scheduled for full rollout between November 25 and December 20, 2024, this initiative aims to improve consistency, enhance the user experience, and provide prospective students with accurate and accessible information.

What are captions?

According to W3C, “captions are a text version of the speech and non-speech audio information needed to understand the content.” Captions differ from an audio transcript in that they are synchronized with the audio.

While some parts of the world use the terms “captions” and “subtitles” interchangeably, W3C provides differentiation between these terms as follows:
