Registration underway for the eighth annual UIS Prairie Stars 5K run/walk

WHAT: The University of Illinois Springfield Campus Recreation Department will hold the eighth annual Prairie Stars 5K run/walk. The race is open to UIS students, faculty, staff and community members.

WHEN: 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9

WHERE: The Recreation and Athletic Center at UIS, 2171 University Drive, Springfield

WHAT: The University of Illinois Springfield and the Springfield Art Association present “Krzysztof Wodiczko: The Art of Un-War,” a film screening and Q&A with Krzysztof Wodiczko and award-winning filmmaker and artist Maria Niro. The film documentary chronicles the life and political work of Wodiczko, an internationally acclaimed artist. This event is free and open to the public.

The UIS Visual Arts Gallery presents “In the Shadow” by artist Jennifer Holt

The University of Illinois Springfield Visual Arts Gallery is pleased to present “In the Shadow,” an installation of ceramic works by Decatur-based artist Jennifer Holt. UIS Theatre presents Student Directed Scenes

The University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) Theatre Program invitees the public to attend Student Directed Scenes, an interesting variety pack of scenes from contemporary American plays.

Student Directed Scenes offers two opportunities to view students’ final projects in the course Directing for the Theatre (THE 476).

Student Directed Scenes will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1 and Friday, Dec. 2 in the Studio Theatre, located on the lower level of the Public Affairs Center building at UIS. Admission is free.
