I am delighted to report that at today’s Campus Senate meeting, Matthew Geras (SPIA) was elected as Senate Chair for 2026/2027 and Kristi Barnwell (HIS) was elected as Vice-Chair. Congratulations and many thanks to both for taking on these important leadership roles.

Campus Senate - Friday, May 1

The 2026.2027 Campus Senate will hold both of the two special meetings required by Senate Bylaws sequentially on Friday, 1 May, 10:00 AM-12:00 PM, in the Student Union North Ballroom. There will be a brief adjournment between the two meetings.

The agendas can be found below (single, two-sided document).

On Friday, March 20, the Campus Senate will hold a first reading of a proposed constitutional amendment to increase staff representation by two members—one Academic Professional and one Civil Service. A vote is expected at the April 3 or April 17 meeting. This effort has been underway since spring 2021, and we are thrilled to see it make the senate agenda.
