Letter of Recommendation

Letters of recommendation are very important as you apply for graduate school and jobs. Before you ask a faculty member to write a letter you should consider how well the faculty member knows you and in what capacity (e.g., class? research? Psychology Club?). It is advisable to ask the faculty member if they feel that they can write you a good letter. When asking a faculty member for a recommendation, please complete this form and give it to the faculty member so that the process goes as smoothly as possible.

Students requesting letters of recommendation from faculty members must also sign a release form that allows faculty members to discuss the student’s academic performance in the recommendation. Please sign this form and give a copy of the signed form to the faculty member from whom you are asking for a letter of recommendation.
