Dear University Community,
Negotiations between the University and the union representing tenured and tenure-track faculty remain ongoing. The parties met today for four hours, working through open issues in good faith. The next meeting is scheduled for Friday, April 10.
During today’s session, the parties reached a tentative agreement on parking. The University also presented financial-related proposals on compensation and salary minima. The union responded with counterproposals and withdrew one proposal.
It is our understanding that some members of the union will continue to engage in a work stoppage. Students should keep attending classes unless you have been notified that they have been canceled. It is the University’s expectation that classes taught by faculty who are not members of this union will proceed as scheduled. In addition, some faculty who are members of this union may opt not to participate in a work stoppage.
Please continue to check the bargaining website for the latest information on the status of negotiations.
We will provide additional updates as needed.
