Superman says this and in the world of higher education, it couldn’t hold more truth. Higher education acts as that cape, empowering individuals to harness their inner superheroes. Despite fewer Americans choosing to earn a college degree, the significance of pursuing a higher education at the University of Illinois Springfield remains profound.

Sending your child to college is a significant transition for both of the parent and student. Parents, trust in the strong foundation you've provided and give them space to grow independently, while also focusing on rediscovering your own interests and personal growth. Financial Aid Director Laci Engelbrecht hosted a webinar on March 13th to explain changes to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students and families. The aim was to help them understand how these changes might affect them. A recording of the webinar is available for those who couldn't attend the live session.

The University of Illinois Springfield is making it easier for students at three local community colleges to continue their education.

Starting with the Fall 2024 application period, UIS will waive the $50 application fee for transfer students applying from Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Richland Community College in Decatur and Illinois Central College in East Peoria.
