The UIS Visual Arts Gallery presents its first exhibition of the semester: 'A tax on a bag and other landscapes.' A reception will be held the evening of Thursday, February 2. The show runs from Tuesday, January 2 through Thursday, February 16.
The University of Illinois Springfield Visual Arts Gallery is pleased to present “A tax on a bag and other landscapes,” a solo exhibition presenting new painting and sculpture works by Chicago-based artist Frances Lee.
Artworks in the Art & Artifacts Collection at the University of Illinois Springfield, including two-dimensional, three-dimensional, decorative arts, and miscellaneous objects, are being offered to faculty and staff through an intra-campus loan program for display in your office (for a period of two years, after which time there may be the option to renew)!
The University of Illinois Springfield Visual Arts Gallery Annual Silent Auction and Benefit will take place both online and on-site at the gallery this year. The Silent Auction and Benefit, featuring original works of art donated by local and regional artists, will launch online on Monday, Nov. 14 and remain live through final bidding at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1. Artwork for this exhibition will be spread between the VA Gallery, the Springfield Art Association M.G. Nelson Family Gallery, and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library. An art crawl between the three locations will be happening during the opening reception on August 11, 2022 starting at 4:30 PM at the ALP Library, then 5:00 PM at the SAA, and ending with the VA Gallery at 5:30 PM.
