Business Objects is scheduled for an upgrade to version 4.3 the weekend of March 25. This upgrade has a very different user interface; as such, we are no longer offering training classes in the current version of Business Objects. The UIS Police Department presents training classes on ways to minimize your risk during an active shooter / active threat incident. The next class will be on Friday, February 17, at 10:00 am in Brookens Auditorium. The class will be approximately 1 hour in length.
Banner Financial Aid will be upgraded on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 to incorporate regulatory requirements along with several minor defect corrections. The upgrade will begin at 5:30 AM CST and is expected to be complete by 7:30 AM CST. Banner will not be brought completely down for this event; however, Banner Administrative Pages, BDM (attachments), Workflow, Chrome River, Eddie, and Amazon Business for Finance will be unavailable during the upgrade.
Please be aware that Parking Lot E will be closed from early morning through 2:00 PM on Monday, February 6 so that school children may safely enter the UIS Performing Arts Center for the Staley Class Acts performances of Pete the Cat’s Big Hollywood Adventure.

The State of Illinois Family Bereavement Act, effective January 1, 2023, includes leave provisions allowing eligible employees to take up to ten days of unpaid leave following a qualifying event involving a covered family member. This Act provides unpaid leave time for additional circumstances related to bereavement and is available to any employee who has been employed by the University for at least 12 months and worked at least 1,000 hours in the last 12 months.

We are delighted to announce participants for the 2023 Professional Staff Leadership Academy (PSLA). PSLA is designed to foster a culture of dynamic and transformational leadership for academic professional and professional civil service staff throughout the University of Illinois System.
The Office of Web Services has updated the site to a new administrative theme! Claro, provides a clear admin user interface, with a more modern look and feel. The new design "defines a complete set of principals, patterns, and tools for building a coherent and user-friendly Drupal administrative user interface" . The initiative to update the administrative theme is to make Drupal compatible with decoupled applications and to make browsing easier for end users.
