A Unique Baccalaureate Experience at UIS

The UIS Capital Scholars Honors Program is a four-year baccalaureate program, open to a small number of highly qualified college students, that provides a challenging, interdisciplinary educational experience in which high-achieving and motivated students gain understanding and leadership skills to engage the world. Combining honors courses, UIS general education requirements, and any of the 35 undergraduate majors offered by UIS, the CAP Honors Program is an opportunity for a diverse group of scholars to maximize their undergraduate experience and competitively prepare for their future academic and career goals.

CAP Faculty

Capital Scholars Honors professors are among the strongest teachers and scholars at UIS and come from among the best graduate schools around the nation and the world. The CAP Program houses two full-time faculty in addition to the professors from various colleges on campus who devote one or two courses per year to the CAP curriculum while also teaching courses in one of UIS’ majors, minors, or graduate programs.
