CAP Honors Peer Tutoring
CAP Honors Peer Tutoring is a free tutoring service provided by the CAP Program, in conjunction with The Learning Hub, in which CAP students can sign up for appointments with trained honors peer tutors. The central mission of our peer tutoring program is to offer students a safe and comfortable environment where they can receive personalized assistance on their writing and other assignments. Our peer tutors are also CAP Honors students who have experience working with writers at all stages of the writing process—from drafting a thesis statement to revising a final draft. CAP students can utilize peer tutors for any assignments in our composition, question, global issues, and senior research courses. CAP peer tutors are selected based on student interest and faculty recommendation.

Jane Carter: Hi, my name is Jane Carter, and I am double majoring in psychology and criminal justice. I am also on the Women's tennis team at UIS.

Adriana Eveland: Hi my name is Adriana, but my nickname is Ana. I am a sophomore in the CAP program; I am a legal studies and political science major. I am also on the cheer team at UIS. I love all things history and environmental.
Alyssa Fulton: My name is Alyssa, and I am currently a senior majoring in clinical psychology and minoring in criminal justice at UIS. I think tutoring is a great way for students to learn and grow as writers. I’ve always loved to write, so I’m very excited to help others become more confident in their writing!
Niamh Grogan: My name is Niamh, and I'm a senior in the CAP honors program. I'm also from Scotland and came to UIS to play on the women’s tennis team. I have been working with the CAP Honors tutoring team for the past 3 years, and I assist students in their writing and math skills. I am a math major, minoring in MIS, and looking to start a career in Data/AI after finishing my master's degree. I love tutoring as it allows me to connect with students and engage with new people. I hope to help my peers feel more confident in their math or writing skills and brush up on areas they want to develop during our sessions.
Grayce Harmon: My name is Grayce, and I look forward to helping students understand and improve their writing skills with a personal touch. I've been a psychology pre-med major at UIS for 3 years!
Logan Iott: Hi CAP students! My name is Logan Iott; I am a sophomore; and I am working towards becoming an elementary education teacher. Besides leading our Aspiring Educators club, I work with our campus Volunteer Center and Residence Life Department. I enjoy writing and research, so I would be happy to help you all with your work :)

Marissa Romero: Hello! My name is Marissa, and I am a CAP Honors junior majoring in English. I love to dance, draw, read, and listen to music. One of my passions is working with students, especially first years, because I know how difficult it can be to navigate college.

Hailey Thompson: Hello, I'm Hailey Thompson; I'm a sophomore CAP student; and my major is Psychology with an interest in business/human resources psychology.
