Construction Updates
Library Commons
If you're watching the live stream, you have witnessed significant progress over the past month. Site preparation began with clearing and leveling the area, followed by soil compaction to create a stable building pad. Surveyors then located and marked placement points for the caissons that will provide foundational support for the structure. Drilling is now underway, with holes extending up to 48 feet deep that will be filled with steel reinforcement cages and concrete.
PAC Plumbing Project
The project is progressing steadily. Unforeseen circumstances have necessitated additional work that resulted in the temporary relocation of Sara Powell and the Campus Senate Office to PAC 327 (Classroom 3C). Visit the PAC Plumbing Infrastructure Renovation Project webpage for all the project details.
New Projects
Parking Lot D
This project will begin soon and include resurfacing the parking lot and installing a new LED lighting system. Stay tuned for more details to come!
Roof Work on Founders and Lincoln Residence Halls
A roofing repair and replacement project began on the residence halls on Monday, August 25. A crane will be on the west side of Founders, just off of Eliza Farnham Drive, the morning of August 28, from about 10:30 until noon. The nearby bus stop will not be affected and will remain open and accessible during this time.
Roofing demolition and removal is currently scheduled for September 2-5. As roofing debris is removed, a forklift will travel from the east side of Lincoln to the PAC dock area, where a temporary dumpster will be located. See the image below for the forklift path and dumpster location. Stay alert when walking between Lincoln, University Hall, and the dock area of PAC during this period.
Weather permitting, this project is expected to finish in November.
