Ongoing Projects

EV Charging Stations

Crews will be on campus beginning the week of March 9 to start work on a new electric vehicle (EV) charging station project. In collaboration with the City of Springfield, EV charging stations will be installed in the northwest corner of Parking Lot I‑North.

The stations will be managed and maintained by CWLP, including the establishment and collection of any associated usage fees once the stations are operational.

Public Affairs Center (PAC) Plumbing Infrastructure Renovation

This project will renew the plumbing system in PAC by repairing and replacing sanitary sewer and domestic water pipes. The project started in June 2025 and is expected to wrap up in April 2027. Visit our dedicated PAC Plumbing Infrastructure Renovation Project webpage for the latest updates.

Parking Lot D

An unexpected problem with the curbing has caused a significant delay that is unlikely to be resolved before the temperatures become too cold for the materials needed for the lot. The project schedule has been revised accordingly with completion now scheduled for May 2026.

University Hall (UHB) Classroom Lighting

Classroom lighting is being upgraded to new LED flat panels. This project is ongoing so as to not interrupt classes. The upgrade is expected to be completed in time for the Fall semester!

Roof Work on Lincoln Residence Hall

Work resumes on the LRH Monday, March 23, pending weather conditions.

Health & Sciences Building (HSB) Lab Modernization

Renovations will begin approximately Sept 5-8 on the 3rd floor of HSB to create a Centralized Lab Equipment Facility. Rooms 329 and 330 will be transformed into a shared space for housing lab instruments accessible to all labs within HSB. Project completion is expected in May 2026.
