Use this form to share campus information with UIS students and employees, including events, short notices, reminders, deadlines and other timely updates.

Requests will be reviewed to determine the best communication channel for reaching your intended audience. Depending on the message, this may include UIS Connection, myUIconnect, Orbit, Canvas, the UIS website or a push notification through the UIS Mobile App. Push notifications are reserved for timely information that is broadly relevant to students and employees and are intentionally limited to avoid notification fatigue.

Is this an event?

If your event is:

  • If your event is primarily intended for students,  Post to UIS Connections (Student events only)
    • If you are not able to post to UIS Connection, please contact Marie Watson, director of student services.
  • If your event is primarily for employees, please post your event to Orbit. 
    • If you are not able to post to Orbit, please contact your unit’s web liaison and ask them to make a post on your behalf. If you plan to post to Orbit regularly, we encourage you to complete Website Access Training to become a website editor.

Post as an article or a newsletter to the UIS Website (uis.edu). Users must have website editing access to submit.  If you do not have web editor access, you may attend one of the web team’s bi-monthly training sessions, which can be found on Orbit, or review the Website Management & Workflows page for information about your web liaison.

UIS Mobile push notifications are appropriate for:

  • Time‑sensitive academic impacts (e.g., university-wide class cancellations, critical deadlines, etc.)
  • Major university service disruptions
  • Urgent billing or financial aid deadlines
  • Institution‑wide notices that require immediate awareness
  • Promotion of major UIS events to be determined by University Communications

UIS Mobile push notifications are NOT appropriate for:

  • Multi‑day or recurring announcements
  • Unit news or newsletters or general updates
  • Information better suited for Canvas, UIS Connection, or the website
