Academic Support Services

The Learning Hub provides free academic support services to currently-enrolled UIS students. Through a peer tutoring program, students can make one-on-one appointments—both in-person and online—in writing, math, accounting, economics, science, exercise science, computer science and academic skills. In addition to peer tutoring, The Hub offers supplemental instruction; online, on-ground and in-class workshops; and walk-in assistance. We also offer many more additional support materials and resources on our website, such as workshop recordings, handouts, and other resources, and on our social media (follow The Learning Hub blog!).

We invite you to visit us and receive help from student peers and caring faculty in a supportive learning environment. We provide continued support and dedication to your academic success!

Please Note!

The 4th floor of Brookens is being closed due to necessary roof repairs. This closure affects the entire fourth floor of the building, including The Learning Hub’s suite of offices and study spaces. Our new location will be on the main floor of the library, with some scheduled services in classrooms throughout Brookens and potentially other spots across campus.

Information about where to find supplemental instruction or walk-in hours can be found on our website. Course- or cohort-specific services can be found on class Canvas sites. Check back frequently as things may continue to evolve as we adjust.

We appreciate your patience as we navigate these changes. If you have any questions, please contact us at thehub@uis.edu.
