Space Request Form
IMPORTANT!!!! Space requests are run through UISConnection. If you are a student organization that has not set up your UISConnection page, please contact our office to arrange this. If you are a campus department, please request the space directly through the controller of that space.
Space Requests
Please note that 2 weeks are needed to process most space requests, especially those with room set-up needs. Certain Student Life spaces have a little more scheduling flexibility. These spaces include the Student Leadership Center and Student Leadership Center Conference Room.
As a registered student organization, groups are able to use University facilities at no cost to them (exceptions of UIS Studio Theater and Sangamon Auditorium). The Student Life Office works with other campus departments to coordinate and reserve spaces for Registered Student Organizations. Registered Student Organizations must have a space confirmation from Student Life in order to use any University space. Student Life suggests at least 4 weeks lead time in your request to ensure the requested space can be obtained. Most spaces on campus have a 2 week minimum and any event that requires a set-up must be turned in 1 week in advance so that workers can be scheduled for the set. Space requests submitted less than 7 days in advance must be accepted “as-is” meaning that there can be no set up or tear down completed Students are not allowed to do their own set-ups per University Policy.

Recurring Events Policy
Student Organizations may request one event to occur multiple times (a meeting or practice for example). Student Life reserves the right to evaluate the potential conflicts on high usage spaces and prime times requested and limit approval of those spaces. Various buildings on campus have restrictions on the number of recurring events that can be scheduled at a time. This does not include special events.
- Residence Life allows for 6 recurrences to be scheduled at a time
- Student Union allows for no more than 2 per week lasting no longer than 4 hours total
- Conference Services allows for no more than 2 per week lasting no longer than 4 hours total, able to request 8 weeks at a time
- Classroom Scheduling allows for no more than 2 per week lasting no longer than 4 hours total
- Student Life Spaces (SLB Gym & SLC) allows for no more than 16 recurrences to be scheduled at a time
