By incorporating high‑efficiency Dual Flush handles throughout the building, the UIS Student Union is able to significantly reduce water consumption while also lowering the energy demands and carbon emissions associated with water processing. This upgrade eliminates the need for the battery‑powered hands‑free flush systems previously in place, cutting down on battery waste and supporting long‑term environmental stewardship.
