What did you study at UIS, and why?
I pursued the MBA in the College of Business at UIS.
When were you at UIS?
I believe I joined in the Spring of 2007 and finished up in the summer of 2009 but you’ll need to fact-check me!
I think a good synopsis of the MBA program at UIS would be that the level of care that the professors have for their students, and their work is unprecedented from what I have seen in higher education. Professors consistently ensure that they are available outside of the classroom and are very responsive. Several professors I dealt with were professionals themselves before going into higher education, so they share relevant, real-world experience rather than relying solely on the textbook for the education.

UIS Commodity Trading Competition
Put your market knowledge to the test in a real-world commodity trading simulation. Compete with others to earn prizes, analyze the market, and build investment skills.
Gain hands-on experience trading financial products linked to oil, natural gas, gold, corn and other commodities while learning how supply, demand, weather and global events influence markets.
Open to students from UIS, Lincoln Land Community College and area high schools.

How much does tuition cost?

When will I receive an advisor?
When you are ready to begin MBA coursework, you will receive a faculty academic advisor. During the admission process and while you are completing prerequisites, you will receive guidance from MBA program staff.
How will I know if I am accepted into the MBA program?
Acknowledgement of your application will be sent to you from the MBA program office. This will either be an acceptance letter or a checklist of items still needed to complete your full application.
Note: This is likely to take 3-4 weeks after your application, fee and transcripts are received by the Office of Admissions.
How do I submit my application?
The application is completed online and the application fee is paid online. Once you begin the process, you are able to return to your file and upload other requirements. Official transcripts should be sent to the UIS Office of Admissions.
