Due to the Labor Day holiday on Monday, Sept. 5, the SHIELD testing site in WUIS 28 will be closed. The site will reopen at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Vachel Lindsay Drive will be closed Wednesday, August 31 at 12 noon and re-open Thursday September 1 at 12 noon.
Please use Ernest Hemingway Drive and University Drive to access campus during this time.
Residents of West Campus may access the parking lot using 11th Street and the first parking lot entrance on Vachel Lindsay.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but hope you enjoy the REC Palooza Street Party Wednesday evening.
Please make sure to obtain a current and valid 2022-2023 parking hang tag.
Complete the PARKING PERMIT APPLICATION and then Stop by the Student Union Room 235
to pick up your parking hang tag during any of the remaining Parking Hang Tag Distribution dates and times.

New Featured Profiles Pages
We have added some new content to sites that you may have noticed. The PR team has been working hard to add student profiles for each of the academic areas. OWS has added Featured Student pages to the Academic sites to showcase of the great students we have at UIS. You can add more featured students to your page as well! UIS has re-established a SHIELD saliva-based COVID-19 testing site on campus available to active-status students, faculty and staff this semester. The site opens TODAY in a new location: Classroom 28 in the WUIS Building (see campus map for location). Please note: The UIS SHIELD site is no longer providing testing to members of the public.

Our August COVID-19 briefing is at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12. We will provide an overview of Fall 2022 guidelines related to COVID-19, discuss the upcoming reopening of our SHIELD testing center, and answer questions.
